A sunset among the trees, the notes of Debussy and Villa-Lobos, the singing of Giuliana Gianfaldoni, and a concrete commitment to the rebirth of the Salento landscape. This is the spirit of "Classiche Forme per Fondazione Sylva," the eagerly awaited event of the international chamber music festival directed by Beatrice Rana, scheduled for today—Tuesday, July 15th—at 7:30 pm at the Le Costantine Foundation in Casamassella (a hamlet of Uggiano la Chiesa, Lecce).

The event represents one of the most symbolic moments of the 2025 edition of the Classiche Forme festival, taking place from July 13th to 20th in Salento, and renews the collaboration with the Sylva Foundation , a non-profit organization active in combating environmental degradation caused by xylella and climate change. The concert will take place in one of the most evocative locations in the region, among the rows of trees in the park, regenerated thanks to the funds raised from the previous edition of the festival.

Performing will be some of the most brilliant voices and instruments on the international music scene: pianist Beatrice Rana, American cellist Brannon Cho, the young talent Ettore Pagano, and soprano Giuliana Gianfaldoni, acclaimed for her crystalline timbre and vocal refinement. They will be joined by the Classiche Forme cello ensemble, composed of Arianna Di Martino, Daniele Ferraro, Francesco Massimino, Giorgio Lucchini, Ludovica Rana, and Marcello Sette.

The musical program, designed to enhance the voice as a profound means of expression, spans the twentieth century and reaches contemporary languages, ranging from Claude Debussy to Kurt Weill, from the Bachianas Brasileiras of Heitor Villa-Lobos to the explosive Violoncelles, vibrez! by Giovanni Sollima.

The concert has a strong symbolic and social significance. Proceeds will be donated to the Sylva Foundation , founded in 2021 with the goal of reforesting areas affected by neglect and environmental devastation. In just four years, the foundation has planted nearly 50,000 trees, including the 4,000 recently planted at Masseria Boncuri, near Nardò, a deeply evocative place also due to its history of seasonal agricultural work.

Thanks to a protocol with the Province of Lecce and collaboration with the municipalities, Sylva identifies the areas to be regenerated, oversees land preparation, planting, and maintenance for the next five years, thus ensuring the autonomous growth of the new plants.

"Classiche Forme per Fondazione Sylva" confirms its position as an event where art, environment, and commitment merge into a concrete and engaging initiative for the local community. "Music," explains Beatrice Rana, "has the power to unite and raise awareness. This event demonstrates that a concert can also become a collective gesture of responsibility toward our landscape, our history, and our future."
